| Security Checkpoint | Official NEXT Employee Portal (Real) | Scam Portal (Fake) |
|---|---|---|
| Official URL / Web Address | The portal is hosted securely at https://employee.next.co.uk/ or the verified Oracle Cloud environment at https://ekeq.fa.em2.oraclecloud.com/. | Uses deceptive lookalike domains such as https://www.google.com/search?q=next-employee-rewards.com, nep-update.info, or unsecure HTTP connections (missing the padlock icon). |
| Required Login Credentials | Standard login requires only your registered email address (or username) and your password. Initial account registration requires your salary number and a unique registration code found on your payslip. | Demands sensitive identity information upfront on the login screen, such as your National Insurance number, driver’s license details, or personal banking PINs. |
| Requests for Financial Data | Provides a secure dashboard to view your existing payslips, pensions, and benefits under the “My work” section. The portal will never ask you to input credit card details to access your own wages. | Displays urgent warnings or pop-ups claiming you have an “unclaimed employee bonus” or “pending salary adjustment” and requests credit card information to process a fake payout. |
| Password Reset Procedures | The official reset process involves sending a secure, time-sensitive link directly to your registered email address. Official passwords must contain at least 6 characters, combining letters and at least 1 symbol. | Forces you to download a “security update file” (.exe or .apk) to reset your account, or involves unsolicited phone calls asking you to read a One-Time Passcode (OTP) aloud. |
| Helpdesk & Support Channels | Official technical support for the portal is managed via the NEP Helpdesk at the verified number 01163199038 or via email at Pune_HRSupport@next.co.uk. | Directs users to fake WhatsApp support numbers, third-party messaging apps, or uses generic free email providers (e.g., next.hr.admin@gmail.com). |
Registration Steps In Brief:
The registration process for the Next Employee Portal requires employees to register a personal email address to act as their User ID for future logins.
Step 1: Gather your initial credentials. Before you visit the site, you need your Payroll Number and a unique “Registration Password”. Next provides these initial login details directly on your payslip (specifically noted as your May payslip).
Step 2: Visit the official portal. Navigate securely to https://employee.next.co.uk/ and click the “New User” button.

Step 3: Link your personal email. You are required to register a working, personal email address, which will actually become your User ID for future logins.
Step 4: Create a secure password. The portal has strict password requirements. It must be at least 6 characters long and contain at least one symbol (like !, £, or ?).

Step 5: Set your security questions. You must select five different security questions from the dropdown menus and type in memorable answers. Make sure you know exactly how you spell these, as the system will challenge you with random questions from this list in the future.

Step 6: Verify. Once you submit this form, Next sends a confirmation link to your personal email to finalize the process.
Important Admin Rules Inside the Next Employee Portal
Staff Discount Card Replacement Fees: You can easily order a replacement for a lost, stolen, or damaged staff discount card via the “My Benefits” tab. However, there is a catch: if this is your third request within a 24-month period, Next will automatically deduct a £5 charge directly from your pay.
Updating Your Name Requires HR: While you can instantly update your address, emergency contacts, and bank details online, you cannot update your name through the portal. If you get married or change your name, you must contact the HR Department directly to have your records updated. Only then will a new discount card with your updated name be issued.
Bank Detail Updates are Immediate: If you change your bank Sort Code and Account Number in the portal, the change takes effect immediately for your next upcoming pay cycle.
Lieu Hours: You can only view the “My Lieu” breakdown screen or attempt to book lieu hours if you actually have accrued hours in your Lieu Bank. If your balance is zero, these options are grayed out or unavailable.
Beware of “Red Weeks”: If you cannot seem to book a specific week, it might be a “Red Week.” The portal features a Manager Portal that allows supervisors to designate “Red Weeks”, specific peak business periods where employees are entirely prevented from requesting holidays or lieu time.
